The PX-1 pyrotechnic initiator is a proven initiator designed for aerospace, defense, and space applications. The PX-1 delivers a nominal peak pressure of 650 ± 125 psi in a 10 cc volume, with a functioning time of less than 2 ms at 5 A. The PX-1 weighs 11g and uses a hermetic construction.
The initiator features MS3116E8-2S / NBS9GE8-2SE electrical connections and incorporates 3/8-24 UNJF and M10 × 1.0 4h threaded fixing interfaces for mechanical integration.
The specified installation torque is 95–105 inch-pounds.
The PX-1 represents the standard PX-series configuration. Optronics also offers the PX-2, a variant identified by its flat-wrench configuration.
